We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful matching seven piece Victorian heavily carved burl walnut parlor set that consists of a rolled arm oversized sofa, a gentleman’s arm chair of the same style, an oversized ladies chair and then 4 matching side chairs. The burl walnut appears to be all intact. The sofa has big pillar arms with carved rosettes, applied carved trims on each side, burl walnut panels around the back, heavy crown molded top with a center crest and little medallions. The upholstery appears to have been replaced in the last 10 or 15 years and was done very well. The wooden frame of all pieces have the original finish. They have a few nicks and dings here and there, which is to be expected as they have never been refinished. There is one leg on one of the side chairs that needs to be re-glued as the castor fell out, but we will correct that prior to shipping. The overall size of the sofa is 74 inches long, 29 inches deep, 48 inches high to the top of the carved crest, 26 inches high to the arm and 19 inches high to the seat. The arm chair is just like the sofa with carvings, burl walnut panels, carved knuckle arms, turnip legs and the fabric is in nice shape. The overall size of the arm chair is 26 inches wide, 26 inches deep, 44 inches high to the carved crest, 26 inches high to the arm and 19 inches high to the seat. The top of the molding underneath the crest has some roughness, which we will repair prior to shipping along with gluing up one of the arms that is a little loose. The next item is the ladies chair that is the same as the gent’s chair with all items having original castors. The ladies chair is 23 inches wide, 22 inches deep, 42 inches high to the crest and 18 inches high to the seat. It is a great looking ladies chair that is upholstered on the back to be left out in the middle of the room. The seat of four side chairs could even be used in a dining room. The side chairs are 19 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 39 inches high to the carved crest and 19 inches high to the seat. The side chairs have the same style, burl walnut panels, carved crest, carved, hip rests, turnip style feet and original castors. It is hard to find a set dating from the 1870s intact as most people sold them individually. The seven piece set is being sold all for one money. Depending on the location, shipping could vary from $475 to $775 due to the size of this set.
