We are pleased to be offering today this refinished early Victorian step back cupboard that has been pretty much all refinished in the last 20 or so years. I honestly do not know what kind of wood it is, it appears to be an assortment. It is stained a dark walnut color stain, but it is definitely not walnut wood. It should be walnut wood due to the date though. What you are buying today is an old step back china closet in the Victorian style. It has two glass doors on top that appear to both be the wavy glass. On the inside are four adjustable shelves where someone has taken a lot of effort to put fabric to make it nice and bright white. It comes with a key. It looks to be all original. When you open up the ogee molded drawer it is divided and all felt lined. In the base of the cupboard is a single shelf interior and is also linen lined. I can tell that the bottom has southern pine panels. So this was probably an empire style piece back in the 1860s or 70s that has been stripped down and re-done. It would look great in a country or Victorian home. The overall size is 41 inches wide on the base, 20 inches deep, and 35 inches high to the top of the base, 37 inches wide on the top, 12 inches deep and 50 inches high to the top and approximately 86 inches high overall. It is a good ole country Victorian piece showing minor wear marks here and there. What it really shows is a very reasonable piece. The cost to ship this cupboard is $345 if you are in our normal ship to zone. Please contact us to make sure you are in our normal area.
