This is a really unusual matching pair of solid mahogany twin size pineapple poster beds with the tallest posts and the tallest pineapple finials we’ve seen in a long time! The posts on the bed are 70 inches high on all four corners, the shield on the headboard is 50 inches high, and 38 inches high on the footboard. The inside dimensions are 41 inches wide, by 78 inches long. The side rails are gigantic, at 8 inches high, and 1.5 inches thick, with three angled bracket supports underneath that keeps the mattress set low for better viewing of the headboard and footboard. They have fluted columns, a Sheraton style cutout shield, and look at the finial, which is a leaf with a pineapple top. One of the pineapples finial was missing, and had to be replicated by our cabinet maker, who did such a great job it’s really hard to tell which one is the replica. The pair of twin beds are dark reddish brown and date from the 1920s or ‘30s. One of the headboards had a light spot in the pictures, so we are going to re-spray and re-tint that section, where someone probably slept against it for years. It will be all blended in.
