We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful solid mahogany ball and claw broken arch top Chippendale china closet that dates from the 1880 ' s or so. It almost looks centennial, but the backboards confuse me a little bit. If it is not centennial, than it is right around the early 1900 ' s. It is a great cabinet that has 18 individual pieces of glass on each of the sides and also on each of the front doors. They are individual mullions. There are 18 different cuts of glass on the sides and on the doors instead of one piece of glass. The finials have been re-fabricated and we had to replace a couple of short pieces of molding that was broken, but you can hardly tell where they were. It is solid mahogany ball and claw. There are plate grooves on three sides of the shelves, which means that you can even put dishes or collectibles up against the glass sides for display. It is in the original dark reddish finish with normal nicks and dings. It is 38 inches wide, 16.5 inches deep and 81.5 inches high to the top of the center finial. The space between the shelves starting from the bottom up is 14 inches from the bottom to the first removable shelves, 14 inches high to the next shelf and the next shelf is also 14 inches high. This gives you 13 inches of space on the top. We had to find a key for the lock, but it is a nice centennial china closet that I have found hard to come by in our many years in the antique business. It will cost $385 to have this cabinet shipped within our normal shipping area. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm that you are in our normal area.
