We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful multi satin wood, mahogany and walnut marble top French style nightstand that dates from the 1910s. It is a great looking stand with a very unusual marble green grained inserted top, wonderful cross band satinwood door and sides and x cross inlaid across the hand dove tail drawer. It also has brass ormolu decorations on the sides of the legs. It is a beautiful little stand that is getting hard to find. This one is in pretty good condition with just a small chip of wood out on the right hand side on the molded top. You can see where the marble was cracked at one time, but it appears that it was glued up at one time in the left hand corner. It has a hand cut dove tail drawer with a diamond shape satinwood and mahogany inlaid veneer front. The door and sides are all satinwood cross band. The brass ormolu trim decorates the tapered routed carved shapely legs. The overall size is 21 inches wide, 13 inches deep and 33.5 inches high. When you open the door it has a small fleck of veneer that was off at one time on the side. The inside shows a marble lined base on the storage cavity. Shipping starts at $85 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
