- 17921 Victorian Burl Walnut Swivel Tilt Office Chair
Product Description
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful and very difficult item to find in the antique world. It is a Victorian burl walnut carved swivel office chair that dates from the 1870s to 1880s in wonderful condition. It has a cane back and a cane seat. The cane is stretched a bit on the seat, but otherwise it is in great condition. Some people soak stretched cane in water and it may tighten up a bit. The chair is in real nice shape. Most of the time people put tufted leather on them. The back has a hand carved crest, incise carved details on both sides with applied leaf carving on both posts and a burl walnut panel in the center. It has big bold sturdy arms that goes down into a nice shapely seat. I do not see any damage on the woodwork, which is quite unique. It has a threaded rod that goes up and down. It will tilt back on a spring mechanism. The overall size is 24 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 42 inches high to the chair back, 26 inches high to the arm and 18 inches high to the seat. The chair will go up and down on the threaded rod. It is a great walnut Victorian office chair. It was finished many years ago in an over varnish. It is in great condition for the age. Shipping starts at $145 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
