- 17881 Victorian Needlepoint Arm Chair
Product Description
We are pleased to be offering today this Victorian solid black walnut arm chair that dates from the 1880s with newer needlepoint fabric. It came right out of a home in central Maine. A lady had this in her house and her aunt put the fabric on in the 1930s or 1940s. The needlepoint is in excellent condition. The fabric is a dark purple background with a floral design. The chair was low and her grandfather put a small extension on the front legs as her grandmother didn’t like the castors. You can’t really tell, but I wanted you to be aware. It have carved knuckles and a carved cluster in the back. The finish appears to be original. It has a small stress crack in the back on the right hand side that is all tight and sturdy. It is a great chair at a reasonable price as we have sold this style chair for as much as $800. The overall size is 24 inches wide, 24 inches deep, 42 inches high to the crest, 24 inches high to the arm and 17 inches high to the seat. Shipping starts at $185 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
