We are pleased to be offering today this solid black walnut civil war era Victorian walnut needlepoint ladies boudoir chair that dates from the 1860s to 1870s era. It is a beautiful chair in original finish. The needlepoint appears to be in wonderful condition. I am not sure it is the original covering, but it could be. The design on the back and the seat are awesome and they are definitely from the Victorian era as the later ones were not as pretty and colorful. The chair right at the seams on the top of the finger carving are doweled from the factory and people always lifted them apart, but we will glue up prior to shipping. The overall size is 18 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 35 inches high to the chair back and 19 inches high to the seat. It is a great looking chair with a medallion back with the hand carving on the finger carves. It has hip rests that incorporated into the seat with a serpentine front skirt seat, cabriole front legs and flared back legs. Shipping starts at $85 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
