We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful original condition solid black walnut American made hand carved gentleman’s arm chair of the Victorian era 1860s to 1870s. It is a beautifully untouched chair. I don’t believe anyone sat in it. These chairs are often found damaged, but this one even has the original dainty castors. The back is nice and tight. I am sure the fabric has been replaced, but I wouldn’t guarantee it. The fabric is in good condition and the chair frame has mellowed to a warm patina over the years. Hand carving across the balloon back down into the curved arms down into the cabriole carved front legs, serpentine skirt and beautiful cutout arms. The overall size is 25 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 40 inches high to the back, 23 inches high to the arm and 18 inches high to the seat. The seat does curved up so at the tallest part of the seat it could be 19 inches. Shipping starts at $225 if you are in our normal area and will increase in costs if not. This estimate is for the East coast. You are welcome to use your own shipper if desired. Please contact us prior to purchase with a zip code to confirm that you are in our normal area.
