We are pleased to be offering today this period Chippendale flame mahogany two piece queen Anne leg full bonnet top highboy chest that I believe dates from the 1840s to 1850s. I have taken numerous pictures of the interior and exterior. This came out of an east coast estate. It was refinished a long time ago and it is beautiful and stunning. I was told by someone that saw a picture of it that it was worked over, which I am sure it has as old as it is. However, we are not asking a premium of $15,000 either. If you want a period chest and to find one in flame mahogany for your home, than this is your item. It is all handmade with square nails and peg joinery. It has ten drawers total, flame finial top, full bonnet dustcover, period hardware. I am not a primitive antique dealer, I’m a Victorian antique dealer, but I can tell you that it has likely had work done just due to sheer age. However, there is nothing noticeably re-done. It has a rich mahogany stain and it is all set to go into the home. There are very little negatives on this. It has lip drawers, big bold hand cut dove tails, if not the period brass than certainly aged brass, deep dish clam shell carvings, acorn bottom finials and a very dainty tall queen anne pad foot leg that is 19 inches high. The overall height is 77 inches high, 38 inches wide at the top of the base dresser, 18 inches deep on the bottom section, 35.5 inches wide on the top section and 17 inches deep on the top section. There is some finish wear underneath the first large drawer on the top. It is a great chest that is beautiful. Shipping starts at $425 if you are in our normal area.
