We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful set of 6 mahogany formal style Chippendale type carved dining chairs that date from the 1940s. We have taken these chairs into our shop to re-glue, sand, stained and applied multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer for years of carefree use. This set contains two master or arm chairs and 4 side chairs. This set must have been made by a quality maker such as Bernhardt. Look at the carved top rail with the clam shell carving in the center, it is bulbous on the top, a fancy cut out center splat, carved columns coming down the flared back legs, carved knuckles on the arms and the country Chippendale square leg with a solid H cross stretcher. They are stained a dark reddish brown mahogany finish and they are all set to live in your dining room for many years. The fabric that is on them is in good condition. The fabric is the cranberry, gray and beige stripe. There are a few tiny soil spots that can likely be cleaned out. The chairs have slip seats so that they can easily be changed if the buyer so desires. The overall size of the arm chairs are 23 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 40 inches high to the crest, 27 inches high to the arms and 19 inches high. The side chairs are 20 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 39 inches high to the crest and 19 inches high to the seat. You are getting all six chairs for one money. Shipping starts at $325 if you are in our normal area. Please contact us prior to purchase as shipping could increase as much as $100 the further from New England you are.
