We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful set of six hardwood dining room chairs that dates from the 1880s in refinished condition. These chairs are most likely maple stained a dark brown stain with the variations of the wood grains showing the colors that maple and birch show. Someone spent a lot of money in refinishing these chairs having them all tightened up, redo them, put a clear coat finish and every chair was caned with a plastic cane. Some people believe the plastic cane lasts longer. They spent a lot of money just in the seats let alone the refinishing. The chairs have a little burl panel on the top carved crest rails, stick and balls, cut out splats with little cutout ball underneath, round seat, heavy hip rests for added stability, multi-turn front leg, multi-turn cross stretchers and even the bottom trim skirt underneath which is unique. The overall size is 18 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 37 inches high to the back and 18 inches high to the seat. The chairs are finished in a medium brown stain finish. Maple and birch can be stained to look just like walnut if you are looking to match them up to a table. Shipping would be in the $285 range depending on your zone. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm the shipping price as it can vary greatly from our east coast zone to your locale.
