We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful Victorian solid mahogany carved gentleman’s arm chair in a larger than normal size dating from the 1870s era. It has a great medallion back with hand carved corner crests on both sides, carved arms, carved bottom posts on the back of the oval back and the carved knuckle arms that go down into the cabriole legs. The woodwork is in fantastic shape. The fabric is in great shape being an antique yellow with a beige floral arrangement. The only thing I can see wrong with it other than a couple of nicks in the woodwork is that the upholstered arms were done as a slip cover and not done in the normal fashion. The buyer may desire to have them redone properly. The overall size is 26 inches wide, 26 inches deep, 43 inches high, 24 inches high to the arms and 15 inches high to the seat. The chair has not castors, but they could be added to increase the seat height if desired. It is a great chair in a dark reddish brown mahogany stain finish. Shipping starts at $185 if you are in our normal area. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that you are in our normal area as shipping can increase the further from New England you are.
