15957 Antique Empire Flame Mahogany Bonnet Chest with Pillars
PURCHASE PRICE: $1250.00
SHIPPING: $385.00Item #: 15957
This is a country flame mahogany empire chest with flame mahogany pillars and acanthus carved crowns that dates from the 1840s- ‘60s. What a beautiful chest: We’ve re-sprayed the top and cleaned it up to expose the gorgeous matched flame mahogany veneered fronts on all the hand-cut dovetail molded drawers. Someone has replaced the original hardware with Hepplewhite style hardware, which looks really nice on the chest, and the cabinet has flame mahogany all over the front, big turnip feet, big Roman pillars with acanthus carved tops, and the overall condition is really nice with only minor wear from age. It has paneled sides, step-back on the three bottom drawers and an extra-deep top drawer that was used to store bonnets. The size of this early chest is 45.5 inches wide, 23 inches deep, and 44 inches high. It has a dark reddish-brown stain finish, and is all ready to go in your home. Period furniture like this, in this condition, is very hard to find in such great condition, unless it’s been fixed up by professionals like us.
